Chesapeake Bay, nicknamed Chessie, is Black Mist's first foal. Right from the start he was special because he sported a solid bay coat, the first known in the Misty line. Because of his unique appearance, the Allens stretched their imagination when it was time to name him, and with the help of the bay coloring, he earned his name.
At two years of age, Chessie was trained under saddle and became a member of the Chincoteague Pony Drill Team. He has also competed in horse shows and was later sold to a girl named Danielle Gehman who rode him in 4-H when she was younger. He shares his father's looks and his mother's gentle, willing disposition which makes him a favorite lesson pony at the Gehmans' riding stable in Pennsylvania.
