Drizzle was Foggy Mist's fifth foal, and the last foal of hers to be born on the Chincoteague Pony Farm. When he was a few months old, he and his mother were purchased by Rainy's new owner, and went to live on a farm in Maryland. Drizzle's name had been Maelstrom at the time, named by Celina Boltinghouse, but his new owner had trouble pronouncing it so she re-named him Drizzle. He was intended to be a breeding stallion when he came of age, unfortunately, he died of colic before this could happen.
