March 30, 1983 Chestnut Filly
Dam: Misty II
Lightning was Misty II's second known foal. Her sire was either her uncle Thunder or her cousin Cyclone, however due to her name it's likely her sire is Thunder as Lightning was also the name of Thunder's sire. She was offered for auction at four months old by the Chincoteague Miniature Pony Farm with several other foals. The auction was written about in the Salisbury, Maryland newspaper. Lightning was sold for $875, the highest priced foal, to an A.J. Shultz of Reading, Pennsylvania. No more is known about her.
