Partly Cloudy is Wind Spirit's first foal, a chestnut pinto very much like her mother. Partly Cloudy was born on the Allens' farm in Pennsylvania, and was named by Marguerite Henry. She was trained under saddle and has competed in shows in English pleasure, as well as taking part in the Chincoteague Drill Team.
Partly Cloudy had her first foal in 1997, the bay gelding Moonlight. In 1999 she had the solid chestnut mare Desert Sun sired by Red Elvis. A few years later, she contracted EPM, a severe equine disease, and was ready to quit living. However, through the Allens' excellent care and devotion to the mare Partly Cloudy was able to recover and bounce back to her normal self.
A chestnut pinto colt Red Cloud, sired by Island Wildfire, was born June 5, 2005. Partly Cloudy’s fourth foal was born May 24, 2008 and is a solid chestnut colt named Riptide. Her second daughter Firestorm was born July 19, 2010 and is a solid chestnut much like Desert Sun.
Partly Cloudycan be seen at the Chincoteague Pony Centre during summer months.
