Clarence "Grandpa" Beebe makes an appearance in the 1950 children's book A Pony for the Boys by Sanford Tousey. Grandpa recommends a pony for two boys and their father that had traveled to Pony Penning to buy a pony. He also lets the family camp in their car on Beebe Ranch. This illustration is supposed to be of Grandpa Beebe but doesn't don't look much like him! Still neat to see Grandpa and the ranch appear in a kid's book unconnected to the Marguerite Henry books.
