Wesley Dennis drew from real life and he perfectly captured Beebe Ranch. Here's one of his illustrations of Grandpa and Grandma Beebe's house and a photo of the house in 1995. The sculptor Chris Hess often sculpted from photos and illustrations.
We're often asked about Sea Star and his place in Misty's story. We added a new page to our website about him: https://www.mistysheaven.com/seastar.html Marguerite Henry stayed at Miss Molly's Inn on Chincoteague while writing Misty of Chincoteague. It's still an inn today and has this historical marker out front. The room that Marguerite stayed is a guest room called the Marguerite Henry Room.
