Pictures from a very special meeting in 1996. Misty II and her human entourage had traveled to her grandmother's old home of Wayne, Illinois. The gentleman pictured with Misty II is Eddie Pacuinas who trained Misty. Misty II shook hands with him like he had taught her grandmother so many years before. Mr. Pacuinas proclaimed Misty II to be a fine Chincoteague Pony and worthy of her grandmother.

Misty II and her family visited Wayne, Illinois in spring 1996. She was invited to make a special visit to Marguerite Henry and Misty's former home of Mole Meadow. Misty II wandered the bowl shaped meadow where Misty had her birthday parties and entertained guests. She grazed in the meadow where her famous grandmother once did.
Misty II: https://www.mistysheaven.com/mistyii.html Legacy's Island Renegade has been confirmed to be a son of Misty's Summer Rainstorm! His parentage was confirmed through an equine paternity test, first time this has happened with a Misty descendant. Chip was born at Beebe Ranch in 2018 and it had been thought his sire was another stallion.
His new page on Misty's Heaven: https://www.mistysheaven.com/islandrenegade.html We were able to add a Misty descendant thanks to family DNA testing for the first time! Shadey Hills Golden Sunshine was born on Assateague and had a couple of possible sires including WH Windy’s Beach Boy. Her owner Deb Shade sent her hair in for family testing with Etalon Equine Genetics. Solana didn’t match with offspring of the other stallion so we were fairly sure she was by Beach Boy.
Karin Musselman owns Beach Boy’s full brother, Chincotegues’ Travlin' Preacher. She agreed to run ancestry/family test on him. He's the pictured pony. Amanda took this picture in May when she pulled his hair for the DNA test. This kind of testing can only be used on close family. Preacher's results connected with Solana so she is definitely by Beach Boy! Solana's new page on Misty's Heaven: https://www.mistysheaven.com/goldensunshine.html Thanks to all involved in trying this new capability! If someone owns a Beach Boy foal they can now verify parentage through Etalon's ancestry testing. Misty's Black Mist, Misty II, and Misty's MayDay Twister at the dedication of the Misty statue on Chincoteague in 1996. These three mares were made into Breyer models that same year. The statue was orignally placed on Ridge Road on formerly Beebe Ranch property. The property was donated by Carolyn and Richard Conklin.
Offspring and descendants of Misty II, Black Mist, and Twister will be at Breyerfest this year with 𝑪𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒄𝒐𝒕𝒆𝒂𝒈𝒖𝒆 𝑷𝒐𝒏𝒚 𝑫𝒓𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝑻𝒆𝒂𝒎! Misty was invited inside the Henry's house for Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner where she would eat her oats off a needlepoint chair. This picture appeared in Life Magazine June 1957. Wesley Dennis's painting of the cover of Sea Star hangs over the fireplace behind her.
