Pied Piper Photo

If you look closely at a picture in A Pictorial Life Story of Misty you'll see an unlabeled glimpse of Misty's sire Pied Piper. It's in chapter 8 "One to Grow On". He's in the background of the picture and this is a cropped version. He's the pony in the front.

Pied Piper was born in 1927 as he was reportedly 27 years old in 1954. Misty was most definitely not his only foal. There's no mention of Pied Piper when his daughter returned to Beebe Ranch in 1957 so combined with that and his advanced age it's assumed he had died by then. He was sort of replaced by his movie counterpart who often described as the "real Pied Piper".
