The Sire of Sunshine and Cyclone

Amanda from Misty's Heaven and Rebekah from Hart’s Island Pony Ranch spent two days this week going through Marguerite Henry's papers at the The Kerlan Collection of Children's Literature at the University of Minnesota. We found a good bit of information on Misty and family to further our knowledge and fill in missing information. One of the things we found in letters was that Windy's first two foals, Sunshine and Cyclone, were sired by the Arabian Al-Marah Sunny Jim. Their sires were previously unknown so we're thrilled to fill in this part of the story of Misty's descendants.

Sunshine was later the dam of the famous Misty's Twilight. Cyclone was a stallion and sired many ponies through his life.
