Beebe's Misty Nor'easter, nicknamed Smudge, is the first foal of Misty III. With Misty III getting older it was decided she needed to finally have a foal. A tiny solid buckskin filly was born the morning of September 17th at Kerkaken Acres. Little Smudge was initially a dummy foal and overcame it with constant care in her first day of life. She had to stay indoors for longer than expected because of a fierce nor'easter came up the coast and flooded the Eastern Shore of Virginia. Smudge and Misty III stayed snug in the barn during the storm. She's already proving to be a feisty little filly and a handful for her dam to keep track of!
It took quite a while to decide on a name for such a special little filly. She looks a lot like her solid buckskin maternal grandmother Little Beebe, who Kendy Allen bought with Maureen Beebe, so her name had to include Beebe in some way. Misty also had to be in there somewhere The nor'easter provided the rest of her name. Her nickname Smudge comes from her newborn dark buckskin coat, suggested by Maureen's daughter Zebie Hursh.
