Misty Statues

Two bronze statues of Misty were cast in 1997. One stands on Chincoteague and the other at Kentucky Horse Park. The statue is of Misty as a foal playing with a duck and a rooster. It was sculpted by Brian Maughan, The design was inspired by Wesley Dennis's illustrations in Misty of Chincoteague. Funding for the statues came from many donors all over the world.

Original Misty Statue Location

The Chincoteague statue was originally placed in on a small portion of the original Beebe Ranch called The Thicket. The property was donated by Carolyn and Richard Conklin in 1996. The statue was dedicated on July 29, 1997. There's a sign where the statue originally stood. The site is on the south end of Ridge Road on the west side of the road.
