Beebe Ranch
3062 Ridge Road Home and 10.3 acres of Beebe Ranch that was previously owned by Ralph and Jeanette Beebe. It was the home of Misty from 1957 to her death in 1972. The property is owned by Museum of Chincoteague Island and is open for tours frequently. Visit the museum's website for availability. |

Former Location of Clarence and Ida Beebe's House
Approximately 3008 Ridge Road
The home of Grandma and Grandpa Beebe's house that Wesley Dennis illustrated in the Misty books burned down in 1996. Part of the land has been redeveloped. The location is on the east side of Ridge Road and south of the current Beebe Ranch. There is a pull-off in front of approximately where the home was. The former location of the Misty statue is across the street.

Misty's Hoofprints
4074 Main Street Misty's hoofprints and name are set in cement in the sidewalk directly in front of the entrance to the Island Theatre. Hoofprints were placed during the premier of the Misty movie on Chincoteague in 1961. Marguerite Henry wrote Misty's name. |

East/West road between Main Street and Ridge Road Beebe Road is named for the Beebe family. It runs from south Main Street to Ridge Road. At one time Beebe Ranch encompassed the south end of Chincoteague starting approximately at Beebe Road. |

Miss Molly's Inn
4141 Main Street Marguerite Henry stayed at Miss Molly's Inn when she visited Chincoteague to write Misty of Chincoteague. It's been a Bed and Breakfast for many years. The room that she stayed in is a guest room called the Marguerite Henry Room.

Former Location of Chincoteague Miniature Pony Farm
4410 Deep Hole Road
The Chincoteague Miniature Pony Farm, owned by the Merritt family, was at the corner of Deep Hole Road and Maddox Boulevard. It was the home of Misty ponies for many years. It was in the books A Pictorial Life Story of Misty and Misty's Twilight. The barn was torn down in the mid 2000's. The gift shop building houses another business. The former Misty Museum cement block building is now part of Captain Zach's Seafood Restaurant. A brick building directly on the corner was Pony Penning Enterprises which sold old Pony Farm souvenirs and Breyer model horses after the Pony Farm closed. Paul and Helen Merritt operated the shop in their retirement. Helen Merritt operated it for many years after Paul passed away.

Burton's Seafood Ranch/Tom's Cove Park
8128 Beebe Road Burton's Ranch was a neighbor of Beebe Ranch and also raised ponies. Ponies used in the Misty movie were owned by the Burton's. Movie Phantom, baby Misty (Emma), and Black Comet lived in the barn that is now the Tom's Cover park country store. |

Channel Bass Inn
6228 Church Street In Marguerite Henry's book Misty's Twilight the Price family stayed at The Channel Bass Inn when they visited the island for Pony Penning. It's unknown if the real Price family stayed here. The non-local cast of the Misty movie stayed at the Channel Bass when on Chincoteague for filming. |
