Wildfire's Phoenix, Phoenix for short, is Wildfire's fourth and last foal. Phoenix has a full sister that was born in 2022. She was born on Assateague and will be offered at the Pony Penning auction in July. Phoenix was orphaned at less than a month old after her dam was afflicted with hypocalcemia paralysis. The filly stayed by her dam's side until Wildfire was humanely euthanized. Phoenix was taken to the Leonard farm on Chincoteague for care. She was quickly adopted by Chincoteague mare Esther Jane alongside the mare's colt. Several news stories were published about the adoption. Phoenix was sold as a buyback at the Pony Penning auction for $50,500 and will remain on Assateague.
