Misty's Heart of the Storm is Misty's May Day Twister's first foal. Twister had not accepted any stallions before Island Wildfire leading many to wonder, with Twister's advancing age, if she would ever have a foal. Heart of the Storm was worth the wait; a beautiful chestnut pinto filly with a heart shaped pinto marking on her side. Her name was submitted by a tourist visiting the Chincoteague Pony Centre. Heart was wowing the Pony Centre crowds with her cuteness and her antics just a week after she was born.
Heart of the Storm has been the object of many artists' works. She has been depicted by Caitlin McCauley in a pastel portrait. he and her mother have been featured on a Cat's Meow piece. She also starred in her own children's book, written by Kendy Allen, as part of a children's book series about the Chincoteagues of the Pony Centre. Heart of the Storm is pictured alongside nine other Misty family members in the book Horses in Living Color by Barbara Livingston.
She spent many summers at the Chincoteague Pony Centre. Heart is a member of the Chincoteague Pony Drill Team and lives with her family herd at Kerkaken Acres. Heart of the Storm is a successful show pony. She often makes personal appearances during Pony Penning at the Chincoteague Library. In August 2024 Heart traveled with the rest of the Drill Team to perform at Kentucky Horse Park.
