Beebe Ranch
3062 Ridge Road The home and 10.3 acres of Beebe Ranch that previously owned by Ralph and Jeanette Beebe. It was the home of Misty from 1957 to her death in 1972. The property is owned by Museum of Chincoteague Island and is currently undergoing restoration. Tours are available through Chincoteague Step Through Time Tours. |
Misty's Hoofprints
4074 Main Street Misty's hoofprints and name are set in cement in the sidewalk directly in front of the entrance to the Island Theatre. Hoofprints were placed during the premier of the Misty movie on Chincoteague in 1961. Marguerite Henry wrote Misty's name. |
Misty Statue
Approximately 4084 Main Street A bronze statue of Misty is located in downtown Chincoteague. Alongside Main Street in Robert Reed Waterfront Park. Next door to the Chincoteague Island Library. |
Miss Molly's Inn
4141 Main Street Marguerite Henry stayed at Miss Molly's Inn when she visited Chincoteague to write Misty of Chincoteague. It's been a Bed and Breakfast for many years. The room that she stayed in is a guest room called the Marguerite Henry Room. |
Misty's Meadow
33W450 Army Trail Road Three acre park and natural area at the corner of Army Trail Road and Dunham Road. The property was not part of the farm where Misty lived but is named in tribute of the famous former resident of the Village of Wayne. The name Misty's Meadow won in a 1997 contest conducted by Wayne Elementary School to name the park. |
Mole Meadow
Marguerite Henry's home Mole Meadow is along Army Trail Road between the railroad tracks and Dunham Road. Misty once escaped and ended up on the railroad tracks. The original home and barn that Misty of Chincoteague paid for still stand. The home is a private residence and the exact address is unavailable. |
Misty Statue
Kentucky Horse Park A bronze statue of Misty is behind the Kentucky Horse Park Visitor's Center. There's a stone set in the ground by the statue for a Misty time capsule to be opened in 2046. |
