Like his name implies, Lucky Surprise was a big surprise to his owners The City Ranch of Baltimore, Maryland. His Miniature Horse dam Molly was living at the same farm as Knightmist when the two met up. Molly was sold to The City Ranch unknowingly in foal with Lucky Surprise. A contest was held to name him.
