Mary Read is a chestnut pinto mare that lives on Assateague. Her sire is Tornado's Legacy, a son of Tornado, and her dam is Anne Bonny. One of her full siblings is Anne Bonny's Little Flower. She's named after a historical female pirate. Mary Read has had several foals including a daughter, Captain Carlon's Martha Lou, that was kept for the herd. She briefly joined the herd of WH Windy's Beach Boy in 2022. She had a black pinto colt by the Misty family stallion in 2023.
