Misty's Mirage was Misty's Twilight's second foal. She was sired by the Quarter Horse stallion Flashy Moon. Her dam was sent to cutting horse training after she was weaned. When Mirage was a yearling Sandy found her having chocked on grass. Before the vet could arrive Mirage thankfully passed the food that was choking her. She was very sweet and loving. Mirage was sold to the Trowell family in 1987 alongside her half sister Misty's Twister. Mirage was trained to ride.
