Walnut Hill's Sand Storm was born on Assateague in 2008 and is a full sister to feral mares Jessica's Sea Star Sandy and Landrie's Georgia Peach. Her sire is Tornado and her dam is Philly Girl. She was bought by Jim Beach of Walnut Hill in Avondale, Pennsylvania. Sand Storm is the known dam of 2012 palomino pinto mare WH Sundance and 2016 chestnut pinto mare Misty's Mystic Sunrise both sired by WH Nightwind. She is likely the dam of other foals. Sand Storm's daughter Sundance looked a great deal like her. She spent some time in the Refuge Inn's pony pasture in summer 2023, 2024 alongside her foal, and into 2025.
