WH Surf and Sun, better known as Surfette, was a dark chestnut mare that spent most of her life on Assateague Island. She was bred by Jim Beach of Walnut Hill in Avondale, Pennsylvania. Surfette was sold to the Chincoteague Volunteer Fire Company in 2018, alongside her dam. She greatly resembles her sire's dam Surfer Dude's Gidget.
Surfette had her first foal in 2021; chestnut pinto filly sired by Ajax. Her second foal in 2022 is another chestnut pinto filly sired by Ajax named Misty's Bae Breeze. Her third foal in 2023 is a mostly white chestnut pinto gelding named Jax Stormy Surf sired by Ajax. Surfette's fourth foal is chestnut pinto filly Leather & Lace sired by Ajax. Her last foal is a 2025 chestnut pinto colt sired by Ajax.
Surfette sadly died too young when she passed away February 11, 2026 on Assateague.
